Hi, My name is Michael Hickman, i am a student trying to pay my way through med school for my radiology degree. To get the money for it i have arranged a deal where i work for my parents cabbing stones and i get a portion of the sale price when they sell online. i am rather new to cabbing and have little wire wrap experience so i am not quite sure the kinds of shapes most wire wrappers would like to use. If ya'll could check out the ones i've done so far and give me advice on what you would personally use i would appreciate it :) http://www.facebook.com...ign-Studio/327536861520
Thank You, Michael Hickman

I have been cutting cabochons for 2 years and wire wrapping or 3 years. I like oval, round, and teardrops for calibrated or stenciled cabochons. If you like to do free forms, triangles with rounded edges are nice and so are shield shapes. Let the stone speak to you when you cut a free from. Look for ideal patterns and cut around them so that the cabochons that are special and do not look mass produced. When cutting from a stencil or when cutting a symmetrical shape use graph paper to help ensure that it is uniform in shape. Trace the stone as you shape it and count the squares to make sure its a perfect circle, or whatever shape you choose.
